Born in &lt;?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /&gt;&lt;st1:country-region w:st="on"&gt;Germany&lt;/st1:country-region&gt;, she graduated from &lt;ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt;Georg-August &lt;/ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt;University&lt;/ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt; with a MS in Biology and then came to the &lt;st1:place w:st="on"&gt;&lt;ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt;University &lt;/ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt;of &lt;ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt;California Los Angeles &lt;/ST1&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://scitechwaves.net/emoticons/tongue.png" /&gt;&lt;/st1:place&gt;where she completed a PhD in sociocultural anthropology.&amp;nbsp;Since living in &lt;st1:country-region w:st="on"&gt;Guatemala&lt;/st1:country-region&gt;, she has continued to research, write, and advocate for Guatemalan women especially those&amp;nbsp;migrating to the &lt;st1:place w:st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:country-region w:st="on"&gt;United States&lt;/st1:country-region&gt;&lt;/st1:place&gt;.
